Great for pets with arthritic pains & skin conditions
Raised bedding improves mobility and quality of sleep. They ease joint and muscle pain by providing support to the spinal column and hip joints. Don't wait until the damage is done, and avoid costly vet bills and injury to your pooch. Some breeds that are more prone to joint problems and arthritis include: German Shepherds, Golden Retrievers, Labrador Retrievers, Dachshunds, Newfoundlands, St. Bernards, and Great Danes.
Unlike the more traditional stuffed dog beds, the Houndhouse eliminates the potential for odour causing bacteria buildup.
A bed that your dog won't chew
HoundHouse comes proofed, this proofing proves very distasteful for dogs and should deter them from chewing. Wooden Kennels look lovely, but dogs love to chew them, and that means dangerous splinters and another bed to buy. Watch out for raised dog beds that are made with PVC tubing. PVC is easily chewed through by your dog, which creates small jagged pieces that can cause choking.
SIZE: The Houndhouse is available in 4 sizes and comes with a mat to suit each size. We currently stock the Green Houndhouse.

Helps your dog feel safe and comfy
A dog has a natural instinct to sleep in a den-like environment with a hollow for its belly in the floor, this is why the HoundHouse works so well. The floor sinks in the middle to allow for belly curl & the canvas hood means nothing can sneak up from behind. This makes your dog feel safe & comfortable, even in thunder storms.
Perfect for permanent housing, camping, travelling, and visiting
Not all dogs can stay inside all the time, and when your pooch needs to be outside, give them a stylish home that is made from super tough canvas. For future collapsing only remove centre bar. This enables the kennel to become compressed to around 10-12cm thick for easy transport.
Why Your Dog Should Have a Bed of His Own
One of our favorite things about dogs is that they are warm and snuggly. But for your long term comfort and theirs, they need to sleep in their own bed (at least, most of the time). Dog beds define a safe and secure spot where the dog can rest and sleep. Most people are surprised at how well dogs take to their own beds. It really makes a difference in a good night's sleep.
A Dog Bed Provides Comfort and Nesting
Many dogs will prefer a bed that provides comfort and is easy to get into and out of. Joint pain, arthritis, age, and weight can all hinder a dog's ability to get comfortable while sleeping. The HoundHouse lets your dog stretch out in comfort.
1. Will my dog chew the HoundHouse?
Most animals find the proofing in the canvas of the HoundHouse dog kennel very distasteful. This is not dangerous to your dog. If you have a problem dog we suggest training, stop chew sprays & food chew toys.
2. Will it be too cold or hot?
The canvas material has a thermal breathing insulation quality that cannot be reproduced with tin, wood, plastic or nylon. For those hot summer months hose down the kennel with cool water and this is know to drop the inside temperature dramatically. A HoundHouse door is available for the colder areas. This is what makes the HoundHouse the most comfortable hygienic kennel available on the market for your mate.
3. My dog digs
The canvas mat is scratch resistant, that is, the proofing in the canvas waxes up causing a glaze over the surface. If this is a problem give your dog something to move around inside the kennel, eg. old blanket or towel & if a problem is foreseen add a piece of carpet to the base.
4. How waterproof is it?
The manufacturers of the material suggest reproofing every 6-12 months depending on the conditions the material is subjected to. HoundHouse recommends that it be proofed whenever it's deemed necessary. Canvas proof sprays can be purchased from camping & hardware stores everywhere.
6. My dog won't sleep in that!
Heard it too many times & it's probably true with most timber, tin, or plastic kennels. A dog has a natural instinct to sleep in a den like situation with a hollow for its belly in the floor, this is why the HoundHouse works so well. The floor sinks in the middle to allow for belly curl & the canvas hood means nothing can sneak up from behind. This makes your canine feel safe & comfortable, even in thunder storms.
